Can I ask you a personal question?
It’s something that usually comes up for a lot of people this time of year...
When was the last time you put yourself first?
Really slowed down, giving yourself the space to ask,
"Am I putting everyone else's needs before my own?"
"Is a new chapter or desire in my journey daunting me?"
Because even if it’s a positive thing like finally having the time to pursue passions or gaining more purpose or setting audacious goals,
Change is scary. Full stop.
And one of the ways we cope, is to distract ourselves and focus on giving + supporting everyone else. Now, I’m not saying that you don’t truly enjoy being there for those you love…
In fact a true sense of joy, even pride, is garnered from showing up consistently for the ones you love.
Especially when we’re going through these big life changes, like an empty nest, changing relationship dynamics or navigating the "what's next in life question…"
Nurturing a sense of self-giving can start with something as simple as being our own best friend, carving out time to show up for ourselves, and saying, “talk to me body...I hear you, I’m listening…”
When we create this type of space in our daily practice, on the mat, or going through our daily lives, we can actually "feed" so many more people …
We learn to tap into that balance between me time and being there for others...
Because big changes like :
What's my next chapter going to look like?
I'm worried about my family, I feel a lot of stress around caring for them
I'm not ok letting my body "go", I want to look and feel vibrant
I want to re-establish or ignite my relationship with my significant other + radically enjoy life together
Are no longer hidden fears, but are actually given the space to come forward so we can deal, plan, and show up fully for these different stages in our lives…
WHAT WOULD THAT LOOK LIKE?
Well for starters, we need to shift this pattern, and I KNOW you’re going to deeply love how this feels. I know I did...
